OVERVIEW

The final part of the remote management solution

A remote server stops responding and appears to have "hung", with all attempts at remote access failing. A common problem for all system managers! With no remote access, the only option is to manually reset the server, on site.

The requirement for this action can have serious repercussions with loss of user productivity; travelling costs will be incurred by the engineer and where the server is in a customer facing role credibility can be damaged.

The TeleJet Web-Resetter is a low-priced and simple solution which allows you to reset any server anywhere in the world in your organisation via the internet. Each site utilises an existing server or PC to act as the Web-Resetter server which is connected to the Resetter hub. The hub is connected to a series of TeleJet Keyboard Simulator’s (TKS), one of which is required for each server, which connects to the PS/2 port of the server to pass keyboard commands and (optionally) to the reset switch inside the server. Up to 10 hubs can be connected together, each hub has 3 ports and up to 100 TKS’s can be connected in a chain to each port allowing up to 3000 servers to be controlled from one Resetter server.

The benefits of the TeleJet Web-Resetter are:

  • Saves call out/ travelling costs for an engineer.
  • Saves time. The shorter the period the server is unavailable, the period of productivity loss is reduced.
  • Competitively priced.
  • A simple interface allows servers to be controlled easily.
  • Careful reset is possible because of different reset-methods: "Ctrl-Alt-Del", free keyboard input or direct reset. No mains turn off is necessary which could put at risk the integrity of your data
  • No compatibility problems occur because the Web-Resetter is a hardware solution. The servers only need a PS/2-interface and (optional) access to the reset-connector on the motherboard.
  • Straight and simple wire connection.
